Anyone know where I can find shipping containers to transport fragile remote control planes across country>?

I need a reliable company that will ensure the plane to get to it’s destination (a competition) without ANY damage.

Venus fly traps, could the be considered “intelligent”?

First of all, the carnivorous plant species amazes me. But do you think the venus in particular could be considered intelligent because of it’s ability to know when to close around something and when not to? The hairs have to be touched at least twice by something to rule out it being something non living in it’s “jaws.” I think that this could make it more like a sea anemone, which might also be able to be considered more animal than plant, to me anyway. So, do you think this plant instinct could be intelligence, or just what plants “do”?

Is there a difference between sea salt and table salt?

Just wondering…people say to use “sea salt” spray to scrunch your hair, but in the answers on here, everyone just says “salt” which I assume means table salt. Is there a difference?

Gang of jellyfish attacks and kills over 100,000 salmon?

Did anyone read about the jellyfish that killed over 100,000 salmon in a farm in N. Ireland?? There is a salmon farm and it lost pretty much everything. They said billions of jellyfish - in a dense pack of about 10 sq miles and 35 ft deep - overwhelmed the fish. They sent out 3 of their boats, but struggled to get through the jellyfish. All of the fish either died from stings, or stress by the time the boats reached them. This guy Russel, who works there, says he had never seen anything like that in the 30 yrs he’s worked there, the sea was red with these jellyfish and there was nothing we could do about it.

So after reading that, why do you think the jellyfish attacked all of those salmon? At the end it reads -they are noted for its purplish glow and its propensity for terrorizing bathers in the warmer Mediterranean Sea. So, they are a big gang huh?

What are your opinions about it?

Eruption
by C.S. Scotkin

I should have known
the volcano was about to erupt.
All the signs, on and off, for the past week,
little tremors, giving me pause,
then passing, forgotten.
Little steam vents, open, then close.
Pressure relieved…for the moment
I thought…

But like the good folks of Pompeii
I was not astute enough or fast enough.
Frustrated, pain wracked, drowning
in a sea of bloody red bureaucracy,
imprisoned in a private 9X12 hell,
invaded by vampires to take blood,
run IV’s to kill infection from a
Jungle forty years ago, now residing
in his very bones.

His face was pale, his mouth a thin slit,
nostrils dilated and fierce wounded Dragon eyes…
We both know the routine assessment by heart, by now.
The vital signs taken,
inane questions asked and answered in low monotone.
I ask him to lie down, please, I’ll start the IV.

The tremors became ten on the Richter Scale
as the blood red lava rose and a mighty scream
of NO MORE tore through my ear
as he struck out and connected
with the symbol of his suffering and pain.

And as quickly as the eruption came, he collapsed.
Great man-sobs of helplessness and despair.
Pleas for forgiveness, I held his hand
till there was no more. I will not insult him
by saying “I understand”. I do not, cannot
fathom these depths.

My arm is sore, but the bruise will go away.
His life needs no more guilt or pain.
My notes will read “He is more depressed,
with periods of agitation and poor impulse control.
encouraged to express feelings”.

Tomato clownfish tank mates?

I bought a tomato clown fish about a year ago and an ocellaris clown fish, last year probably a month after I put them into the tank (they had an anemone and a live rock), the tomato ate the other one! What kind of fish can I get with my tomato now? He seems so lonely…if fish can be lonely. We’re getting a new tank very soon, so it will be fairly big. I’ll come back tomorrow once I know what size it will be, but whatever can go with a tomato clown right now would be good.

Thanks guys
Pretty sure he did eat it, as he wasn’t in the tank anymore…

I know it was a stupid idea now, I just asked the people at the pet store for one clownfish and they said he would need a friend and told me the tomato clowns are friendly. I now know that pet store people don’t know a lot…

Does Biblical Creationism reject or confirm theories of uniformitarianism?

Classic texts such as THE GENESIS FLOOD (Whitcomb & Morris) were probably the first opportunity for Creationist Christians to encounter the term “uniformitarianism”. In that book the concept was derided as a fallacy of modern science. Yet, since that time hasn’t Young Earth Creationism promoted a lot of uniformitarian arguments (e.g. rates of change behind seawater salinity, dust layer on the moon, He 4) as reasons to believe that the earth is young? Put in another way, when is uniformitarianism to be considered reliable and when not for purposes of assessing the age of the earth?

I have sinus problems and am very high above sea level. My neck and head hurt. What is the problem?

I live in San Antonio, Texas. Right now though I am in San Miguel, Mexico for a month in my summer break. I have been here for more than a week and eventually I started having sinus problems. I began having headaches and head rush. The sides of my neck are also hurting. My neck feels swollen. Could the headaches and swollen neck be because of my sinus problems? I am very high above sea level. Maybe it is altitude sickness but I don’t know for sure. What is the problem?
I think there may be an infection of some kind. The swelling in my neck are on the sides below my jaw. Maybe the lymph nodes but I don’t know for sure. I may have a sinus infection. My grandmother had the same thing last week and we are in the same house. She got better though after a few days.
